海南奥赛单招指南：

表示“避难”、“庇护”的名词

refuge、asylum、sanctuary 这三个名词都可表示“避难”、“庇护”; 也可表

示避难、庇护的地方。

refuge 普通用词，可指遇到危险、灾难、不幸、麻烦等情况时寻求避难和庇护，也可指在精神、

思想或行为上寻求庇护或藉慰。

例句：

As the buildings rocked under heavy shellfire, he took refuge in the cellars.

当一座座楼房在猛烈的炮火中颤动摇晃时，他躲进了地下室避难。

Thousands of people crossed the border, seeking refuge from the war.

成千上万的人越过边境，寻求躲避战争的庇护。

Four people who sought refuge in the Italian embassy have left voluntarily.
